Bupa makes internal CEO appointment following Perry’s departure

Today, Bupa Insurance announced the appointment of Chris Carroll as CEO. Subject to regulatory approval, he will transition to the UK from Bupa’s Australian business in the Autumn of 2024, set to take over in January 2025.

Chris Carroll currently serves as Managing Director of Health Insurance of Bupa’s business in Australia following a promotion from Director of Domestic Retail Portfolio. He’s also a Board Member of Private Healthcare Australia. In the past, Chris has worked as CEO of Asia Pacific Retail at WSAudiology, General Manager at ahm Health Insurance, and GM Marketing & Digital at Medibank.

In his new role, Chris will report to Carlos Jaureguizar, CEO of Bupa Global, India & UK. He will be responsible for leading the continued growth of Bupa Insurance’s consumer and business insurance segments in the UK. “I’m delighted to join Bupa Insurance at this pivotal time,” he said.

“The expansion of Bupa Blua digital healthcare services, market leading products and Bupa’s unique position in the UK to create seamless pathways between insurance and provision operations makes this an exciting opportunity to reach more people with trusted, personalised healthcare,” Chris added.
