"Pathways, which are crucial to our customers’ quality of life, underline our wellbeing strategy to promote prevention and enable early intervention."

In 2023, WPA experienced a 16% growth in customers, leading to a rise in demand for musculoskeletal (MSK) treatment. Therefore, WPA has extended its MSK pathway for small & medium-sized businesses (SMEs) and retail customers. Customers will be provided with faster access to treatment, helping prevent minor issues from escalating into more painful conditions – ultimately enhancing recovery.
This pathway is supported by Ascenti & Nuffield Hospitals, ensuring that customers have access to top-tier MSK care – wherever they’re in the country. Customers receive up to five sessions of face-to-face or virtual care, eliminating the need for a GP referral, whilst also preserving customers’ therapy benefit limits, no claims discount (where applicable), and excess or shared responsibility options.
WPA’s physiotherapy pathway recognises that customers often face uncertainty when deciding who to consult about injuries. As a result, it provides options to simplify the decision-making process to help customers get treatment quickly. The pathway is a choice and doesn’t impact WPA’s ‘freedom to choose’ philosophy.
“Whether at home or work, a bad back is a real pain. We want to smooth the process for customers by helping them identify a provider and assist in booking appointments. Pathways, which are crucial to our customers’ quality of life, underline our wellbeing strategy to promote prevention and enable early intervention,” explained Sharon Shier, Head of Retail & Commercial at WPA.
“All a customer needs to do is call WPA, and we will set them on the road to diagnosis and recovery. With immediate access to a physiotherapist, this initiative will enhance access to treatment and assist with booking appointments, further extending what we can do for our customers,” she concluded.
