"Each individual will have a unique experience and journey, and we know that the interactions you have at work can be pivotal."
- Lindsey Rix-Broom, CEO of Canada Life UK
From the 1st January 2025, Canada Life employees based in the UK & Isle of Man will be eligible for twenty-six weeks of paid maternity leave or sixteen weeks of paid paternity leave. This will be available to all parents, including adoptive parents and parents of children born through surrogacy.
Furthermore, colleagues (as well as their partners) undergoing fertility treatment will be offered an additional ten days of paid leave annually. For those who’ve recently experienced pregnancy loss, they will also be offered paid leave.
These enhanced policies will be available to Canada Life employees from their first day in the role.
“We care deeply about supporting our colleagues, not just at work but during the milestones and challenges they encounter throughout their lives. These enhancements reinforce our efforts to build a workplace that focuses on the needs of our people and aligns with our wider ambition to ensure our colleagues flourish at Canada Life,” said Lindsey Rix-Broom, CEO of Canada Life UK.
“Each individual will have a unique experience and journey, and we know that the interactions you have at work can be pivotal. We engaged closely with colleagues as part of this process to understand how Canada Life can support them, and these policies reflect our focus on prioritising the wellbeing of our people during the times when they need it most,” she concluded.
