"I’m thrilled to join Habito in what is a very exciting phase for the business. I’m thankful for the chance to be part of this amazing company and have the opportunity to shape the protection team from the ground up."
- Rhys Walker, Protection Advice Manager at Habito

London-based mortgage broker, Habito, has launched its protection division to replace referrals with in-house expertise. This strategic move is part of its ongoing expansion efforts.

Rhys Walker was appointed as Protection Advice Manager in June 2024. Kulwinder Chana and Niladri Chakraborty from Better.co.uk (formerly Trussle) have now been appointed under his leadership. Alongside these appointments, Hannah Thornely and Matt Kingsbury have joined Habito’s engineering department while Olivia Harris has moved from Mojo Mortgages to join to brokerage.

“Having used a third party for protection referrals previously, we felt it was time to bring the expertise in-house. We’re committed to simplifying the homebuying journey and putting customers first,” explained Ying Tan, CEO of Habito.

“We continue developing exciting technology, and this can only be achieved by continued investment into our talented engineering team,” he concluded.
