RSA Insurance has today announced its two-year partnership in Manchester & Liverpool with UK Youth, dedicated to the promotion of social mobility and helping young people start their careers. This charity represents a network of over eight thousand organisations and partners focused on unlocking youth work as a catalyst for positive change.

This partnership has been designed to support young people furthest away from the job market, who’re often at a disadvantage when it comes to gaining employment. The ‘Building Aspirations’ Programme will support a hundred-and-twenty young people annually with employment skills curriculum and access to a scholarship fund for additional training or to cover the cost of equipment.

The programme will be delivered through four local youth work organisations: Greater Manchester Youth Network, Rise Up, Merseyside Community Training (MYCT), and Youth Fed. RSA colleagues will also have the opportunity to support and mentor youth workers, sharing their expertise to help them make connections amongst their local business networks – additionally, they will directly engage with young people to provide career insights.

RSA is launching this partnership at the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) Conference in Manchester and will be celebrating the partnership at The Edwardian Manchester Hotel at 4:30pm on the 15th May 2024.

“I’m absolutely thrilled about this partnership – I have a profound respect for youth work and all that it achieves. We’ve such a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm amongst our colleagues at RSA, and a well-established practice of giving back and volunteering time in our local communities,” said Georgina Farrell, Chief People Officer at RSA Insurance. She’s excited to get involved with the ‘Building Aspirations’ Programme and help young people by “transferring the skills of my day job to uplift talent.”

Ndidi Okezie OBE, CEO of UK Youth, said “We’re delighted to partner with RSA Insurance in our mission to empower young people and promote social mobility. Together, we will create tangible opportunities for those not accessing education, employment, or training to thrive and succeed.”

“Through this strategic partnership, RSA Insurance & UK Youth are poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people across the UK, working towards our vision for every young person to not only thrive, but actively contribute to their communities,” she added.
