Similarly to ROCK Insurance, this partnership will allow AXA Partners to underwrite mass-market leisure travel insurance policies across DOA Underwriting’s portfolio. According to AXA Partners, this partnership will allow more customers to access travel insurance through a quality brand.
The insurance product distribution will be handled by approximately 1,500 brokers and insurance intermediaries in niche market sectors.
Paul Moloney, AXA Partners client director has said in a statement that the deal would make both companies “stronger together” since AXA Partners will be underwriting policies covering medical screening, sports activities, and cruises.
“Our new partnership with DOA Underwriting Ltd, and its own brand SunWorld, plays a key part in our travel strategy – with the ultimate goal of providing a high standard of insurance cover for as many travelers as possible.”
Mooney added that “[AXA Partners] has recently gone through a rapid expansion phase in the travel space, which has been a result of our proven capability in this market.”
Prior to September 2021, AXA Partners offered its own-brand overseas and UK travel insurance policies to new customers. However, since then, AXA Partners has retracted this service with immediate effect. AXA claimed the decision was made to “simplify its travel offering.”
