Empath_AI is a vocal biomarker technology provider. It offers solutions that identify and support vulnerabilities in real-time, reducing regulatory risks while significantly enhancing the customer experience.
Unlike traditional language models, Empath_AI doesn’t rely on words or phrases, instead analysing speech. It captures emotional tone, stress levels, and subtle vocal cues to detect mental health vulnerabilities, even when not explicitly stated.
This technology aligns with the Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Consumer Duty, promoting fairer outcomes, personalised support, and earlier identification of customer needs.
“Joining the IPTF is a major step forward for Empath_AI, demonstrating our commitment to growing the Income Protection (IP) market by bringing our technology to the adviser, customer, and insurer experience.
“With mental illness now the largest cause of disability in the UK, our industry is responding positively to the demand for products and services that provide greater support for mental health, with a shift from repair and replace to proactive prevention,” said Ralph Tucker, co-founder of Empath_AI.
Vicky Churcher, executive director of the IPTF, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Empath_AI; their work represents a major leap forward in how we understand and support customers – especially the most vulnerable. This is precisely the kind of innovation that will help IP evolve and reach more people.”
