The service will be available to all individual protection customers from 19 June 2026 and will be delivered through MetLife’s partnership with HealthHero.
Customers will receive an initial assessment, followed by treatment tailored to their circumstances. They may be able to access up to six virtual physiotherapy sessions each year, with each session lasting up to 30 minutes.
The service will also include personalised exercise plans and rehabilitation guidance. Customers can choose to see the same physiotherapist across sessions and book appointments up to six weeks in advance.
Sessions will be available between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.
MetLife said the service is designed to support customers recovering from injury or illness, including those dealing with musculoskeletal conditions, by providing home based exercise plans and rehabilitation support.
Phil Jeynes, head of individual protection at MetLife UK, said: “When it comes to injuries or illnesses, people’s first priority is getting the right help and care from professionals. But recovery is just as important. That’s why we’re proud to strengthen our Individual Protection offering with the addition of a physiotherapy service designed to support customers beyond the point of claim.
“This is about more than financial protection alone. It’s about helping customers access the expertise and support they need throughout their recovery journey. No one should have to live with persistent pain in silence, and tailored physiotherapy support can play an important role in addressing the root causes of musculoskeletal conditions while helping to reduce the risk of flare-ups and relapse.”
