Today, Protection Reporter has announced the launch of its new in-person gameshow event. Inside Track 2025 is the ultimate team-based gameshow experience designed to pit the very best in protection against one another; who doesn’t enjoy some friendly rivalry?!

Bringing the excitement of education back to Financial Services, Inside Track revolves around eight protection-based rounds: Definitions, Technology, Added-value, Insurance History, Underwriting, Diversity & inclusion, Industry insight & Claims. In its inaugural year, Inside Track will host up to twenty teams of six individuals. Participants will be tested on industry trends, protection products, history, and (of course) live scenarios, logging answers digitally.

This event has been designed for the industry by the industry, with a panel of experts helping the team behind Protection Reporter decide which questions will be asked on the day: Setul Mehta, Helen Croft, Alan Lakey, Paul Roberts, James Lovett, Christine Husbands, Katharine Moxham, Adam Higgs, Jo Miller, Dr Karan Mehta, Antonio Ribeiro, Branko Bjelobaba, Emma Vaughan, Emma Thomson, Katie Crook-Davies, Neil McCarthy, and Nick Telfer.

Championing education, Inside Track will also support the ongoing work of the charity-led campaign 7Families, fundraising £10,000 for upcoming awareness initiatives. 7Families ran between 2014-16 and followed the lives of seven families who’d suffered an income shock but didn’t have Income Protection (IP).

Equally funded by insurers across the industry, 7Families provided payments to these families – replicating what they would have received if they had IP in place. Throughout this campaign, the families were filmed regularly to document the impact of the payments & added-value services provided – 7Families celebrated its tenth anniversary earlier this year.

“Inside Track has been designed to celebrate meaningful debate in the protection space - which has been Protection Reporter’s mission since the publication was established in 2022. I’m so grateful to everyone who’s been involved with this project so far and look forward to working with our expert panel over the next few months to decide which questions we’ll be asking on the day,” said Tabitha Lambie, Editor of Protection Reporter.

“I’m overjoyed that we’ll also be fundraising £10,000 to build on the work of the charity-led campaign 7Families, as part of Inside Track 2025. 7Families was and still is a vital awareness campaign,” they added.

For 2025, Inside Track will be supported by HSBC Life as its headline sponsor. “At HSBC Life UK, we’re dedicated to fostering positive change in the protection space. Through initiatives like Inside Track 2025, we strive to empower advisers with the knowledge and education they need to deliver customised solutions for individuals and their families,” explained Richard Waters, Head of Protection Distribution at HSBC Life (UK) Ltd.
