"Far beyond any awards or accolades, genuine customer outcomes are what makes our industry matter."
- Phil Jeynes, Director of Corporate Strategy at Reassured

Reassured's panel paid 1,235 claims in 2023, averaging over a hundred claims per month. This equates to over £50mn in Life and Critical Illness (CI) claims – 25% higher than in 2022.

“Far beyond any awards or accolades, genuine customer outcomes are what makes our industry matter. It’s therefore gratifying to see our customers receive the protection they need at the time they most need it,” said Phil Jeynes, Director of Corporate Strategy at Reassured.

Phil said that while each of these claims represent a dark time in someone’s life, “we’re tremendously proud to have been able to stand alongside them and at least alleviate some of their burden.”

“Aviva is incredibly proud to work with strong intermediaries such as Reassured, who have a track record of robust compliance, rigorous quality analysis, and good customer outcomes. These claim statistics show the scale and value of what good distribution means to customers,” added Holly Ewing, Head of Intermediated Distribution at Aviva.

Alongside its core panel, other business areas also saw claims growth. Notably, MetLife paid out to 692 Reassured customers in 2023.

Rich Horner, Head of Individual Protection at MetLife UK, said “To see an intermediary deliver results such as these really serves to demonstrate the need for what our business, and indeed our industry, can do when it works well.”
