"Nobody wants to be beholden to their illness, so it’s good to see employers and insurers recognising this and helping their customers adapt to their new normal."
- Christine Husbands, commercial director at RedArc
RedArc has experienced a 113% increase in demand for stroke-related support over the last two years. Likewise, support for cancer patients and those with cardiovascular conditions has risen by 42% and 25%, respectively.
“Support needs to get the individual back on their feet to get on with their lives – whatever shape that takes. Nobody wants to be beholden to their illness, so it’s good to see employers and insurers recognising this and helping their customers adapt to their new normal,” explained Christine Husbands, commercial director at RedArc.
The added-value service provider believes this rise in demand is “not only down to this need, but also because Critical Illness (CI) insurers are increasingly looking to give customers (both insured via workplace policies and directly) the extra support they require.”
“We’re pleased that so many of our insurance clients are actively promoting our services to their customers. Having a clinical professional on hand helps them to better cope with their health journey, and by being by their side, also leaves them feeling positively disposed to their employer and insurer,” she added.
Recent analysis of RedArc’s patient data found a 75% year-on-year increase in demand for Parkinson’s-related support, followed by arthritis (33%), fibromyalgia (22%), and multiple sclerosis (11%).

RedArc put this demand down to growing awareness of added-value services available via protection policies or employee benefits. Therefore, RedArc has asked insurers and employers to go further in offering and communicating this type of support.
