"The tool is not intended to replace human conversations."

Royal London has launched AI-driven menopause companion Menopal+ for employees and people leaders, as the latest addition to its menopause support programme.
The tool aims to provide a private space to access trusted information, whether colleagues are experiencing symptoms, beginning to notice changes to their health, or supporting someone else.
The companion works alongside Royal London’s Menopals community, Menopause Champions and monthly Menopals forum.
It was developed by a colleague in the Menopals community in line with Royal London’s responsible AI governance framework to provide practical guidance and signposting while complementing human support and advice from qualified healthcare professionals.
Menopal+ does not offer medical advice and is not designed to replace conversations with a human professional. Instead, the tool aims to help colleagues feel more informed ahead of taking the next steps, such as by creating a symptom tracker to record changes and discuss with their GP.

Royal London says the launch reflects its wider approach to women’s health and workplace inclusion.
"Menopal+ shows what can happen when colleagues are empowered to turn their ideas and skills into practical support for others," Claire Williams, head of organisational effectiveness at Royal London, said.
"Blending AI with trusted information and peer networks gives people a place to explore what they may be experiencing and organise their thoughts before taking the next step.
"The tool is not intended to replace human conversations. It can help someone feel better prepared to speak to a colleague, people leader, menopause champion or healthcare professional, while keeping those important human connections at the heart of our support."
