Prior to this appointment, Jon Fuller held various roles across the industry, including senior sales manager at Legal & General, business development manager at LV=, and most recently protection sales director at Aegon (UK).
Notably, following the recent acquisition of the Aegon UK individual protection business, Fuller led a LinkedIn recruitment campaign advocating for hundreds of Aegon employees who’d been made redundant.
At Royal London (UK), Fuller will lead the newly created specialist protection team, recruited from Aegon (UK), to support protection and pension advisers with specialist support on business protection and complex estate planning requirements. The team will also have a renewed focus on business consultancy to help advisers meet the new Consumer Duty requirements.
Meanwhile, Royal London (UK) has also strengthened its underwriting team, recruiting several former Aegon high-net-worth specialist underwriters to work in partnership with the specialist protection team. This team joins the existing specialist large case underwriting team, led by Jon Robinson.
