Allianz appoints new chief information officer

Allianz UK has appointed Benjamin Turner as its new chief information officer (CIO), having served as interim officer for the last six months.

Benjamin Turner joined Allianz in 2020 following the acquisition of Legal & General’s general insurance division (L&G GI) where he served as chief technology officer, overseeing IT, information security, and data protection. Turner also served as head of enterprise architecture in which he was responsible for promoting the company’s IT strategy, transformation, and innovation projects.

In 2021, Turner served as IT delivery director for Allianz Personal while retaining his role at Allianz. The following year, he was appointed CIO of Allianz Personal before serving as interim CIO for Allianz Holdings.

In his new role, Turner will take charge of IT for Allianz UK and join the operations IT executive committee.

Commenting on this appointment, Ashish Patel, chief operating officer at Allianz UK, has said:
