HSBC Life appoints Richard Waters as Head of Protection Distribution

Today, HSBC Life announced the appointment of Richard Waters as Head of Protection Distribution.

In 1993, Richard Waters began his career as an Insurance Broker for HSBC Life UK. He worked in various broker-related roles for the next twelve years, including Product Manager, Business Development Manager (BDM), Operations Manager, Team Manager, Team Supervisor, and Insurance Telesales Agent.

Richard served as Sales Manager from 2005 to 2009. He was responsible for sales performance across distribution channels for Mortgages, General Insurance (GI), Life Insurance & Travel Money. In 2015, Richard was promoted to Senior Product Manager after almost seven years as a Product Manager.

Three years later, Richard was promoted to Senior Manager, before becoming Senior BDM. Richard took on the position of National Account Manager in 2021 where he worked with existing & new partners to grow HSBC Life UK for mutual benefit.

In his new role, Richard will lead the protection intermediary distribution team, oversee key distribution relationships, and work with a team of business development professionals from across the UK.

His primary objective is to develop existing & new strategic relationships as well as deliver training and education to advisers. This will empower them to provide optimal protection solutions to their customers.
