"We’re really excited about today’s announcement and about working in partnership to help drive better outcomes for more people."
- Vanessa Swallows, Group Protection Claims & Governance Director at L&G
Legal & General (L&G) Group Protection has partnered with Perci Health, who describe themselves as the UK’s first virtual cancer survivorship clinic. Through this partnership, employees will gain access to personalised, evidence-based care while living with and beyond cancer.
Perci Health aims to support people to understand and manage the long-term effects of cancer treatment, with the goal of optimising their quality of life and returning to work. As such, Perci Health provides specialist clinical and vocational rehabilitation through virtual clinics with multi-disciplinary cancer experts focusing on the physical, psychological, and practical effects of cancer.
This support is available at no additional cost to those covered by their employer’s Group Income Protection (GIP) policy and will form part of L&G’s person-centred framework, ‘Be Well. Get Better. Be Supported’.
Perci Health’s multi-disciplinary team offers access to high-quality cancer experts from twenty different specialisms, including: cancer nurse specialists, dietitians, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, menopause specialist genetic counsellors, and clinical exercise coaches.
Kelly McCabe, CEO & Co-Founder of Perci Health, said that all too often, those diagnosed with cancer feel alone with their problems and “with no energy to hunt down solutions.” Consequently, she believes Perci Health brings improved outcomes when living and working with cancer.
“We’re on a mission to change long-held thinking on return to work, and so is Perci Health […] our thinking on all counts is very much aligned, in terms of good work being beneficial for health, and wellbeing being the physical, emotional, and social factors,” Vanessa Swallows, Group Protection Claims & Governance Director at L&G, explained.
