"We are looking forward to building on our existing out-reach programme and forging ever closer relationships with BIBA’s wider membership."

In recent years, the British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) and Flood Re has collaborated on various projects, including the Flood Insurance Directory – with support from the Association of British Insurers (ABI) – and the ‘Build Back Better’ campaign.

Furthermore, BIBA was pleased to stand amongst industry stakeholders asked to participate in a series of knowledge sharing forums to help inform Flood Re’s agenda ahead of its quinquennial review in July 2024.

Graeme Trudgill, CEO of BIBA, said “we share a number of common goals with Flood Re including to support access and affordability of flood insurance.” BIBA has long campaigned for ‘Build Back Better’, so the association is keen to support its implementation and help brokers understand the scheme, as well as improve awareness of property flood resilience measures. “Bringing Flood Re on as a partner will strengthen this relationship further, especially as we move towards the quinquennial review later this year,” he added.

Andy Bord, CEO of Flood Re, said he’s delighted to have formalised its strong working relationship with BIBA. “The broking community is in the frontline when it comes to helping households access flood insurance, and BIBA’s members have an increasingly important role to play in helping to spread understanding of the Build Back Better scheme and property flood resilience measures,” he explained.
