"During Claire’s time at Lloyd’s she has built a strong reputation among her colleagues in the Corporation and throughout the market as a trusted legal adviser."
- John Neal, CEO of Lloyd’s
Claire Schrader was promoted to General Counsel on an interim basis in August 2023 after Peter Spires decided to step down from the position. Yesterday, Lloyd’s of London confirmed the appointment, making Claire responsible for managing legal risk for the world’s leading marketplace for (re)insurance. She will also remain a member of Lloyd’s Executive Committee.
Claire has worked at Lloyd’s since 2000, during which time she’s built a strong reputation among her colleagues in the corporation and throughout the market as a trusted legal adviser. As a qualified solicitor, she has extensive knowledge of the insurance sector and regulatory frameworks that support the Lloyd’s market.
Commenting on the announcement, John Neal, CEO of Lloyd’s, said Claire is a “great role model for our future leaders, and I’m extremely pleased to confirm her permanently in a role while is critical to Lloyd’s delivering on its strategic priorities.”
