40% of employers say the health and wellbeing support they offer boosts productivity, new research from Everywhen has found.
Staff retention and staff loyalty rounded out the top three advantages to companies offering health and wellbeing support, at 39% and 38% respectively.
This was followed by the belief that it’s the right thing to do for staff’s health and wellbeing at 35%, while 34% said it aligned with their workplace culture and values, 29% said it increased engagement and 28% said it reduced absenteeism.
Support for recruitment was listed as an advantage by 20% of employers, while 18% said that offering health and wellbeing support allowed them to meet legislative minimum requirements. 16% said it reduced their costs and expenses.
Meanwhile, 9% of employers said they do not see any advantages to offering health and wellbeing support.

"There are so many compelling business reasons for employers to offer health and wellbeing benefits," David Williams, head of group risk at Everywhen, said.
"It’s great that employers are seeing advantages across the business in terms of productivity, recruitment and retention, loyalty and engagement, and more. But more companies should be seeing these advantages."
