"It’s exciting to see how the value-added benefits support employees of all ages, as well as their families, and a key part of my role at GRiD will be to work with the industry to tell this story better."
- Colin Fitzgerald, incoming Chair of GRiD

Colin Fitzgerald currently serves as Distribution Director at Legal & General and has over forty years of experience in the employee benefits industry. Previously, he’s worked in leadership roles at both Unum and Bupa.

In his roles as Chair of Group Risk Development (GRiD), Colin will focus on bringing more visibility to what the group risk industry has to offer, as well as bringing members together to collaborate on educational resources that demonstrate the importance of group benefits as part of an organisational wellbeing strategy.

Commenting on his appointment, Colin explained that “What we do matters, and so many more employers, employees and their families should be benefitting from the products and services we provide.” He believes the industry has evolved from focusing purely on paying claims to bring additional value through a comprehensive range of support services for employees; “It’s the most significant change I’ve witnessed in my career.”

“It’s exciting to see how the value-added benefits support employees of all ages, as well as their families, and a key part of my role at GRiD will be to work with the industry to tell this story better,” he concluded.
