Hiscox appoints Ryan Barker as chief technology officer for Hiscox Re & ILS

Hiscox Re & ILS, the reinsurance and insurance-linked securities arm of specialist global insurer Hiscox, has today announced the appointment of Ryan Baker as its new chief technology officer.

Prior to this appointment, Ryan Baker served as head of information technology for EMEA at the Reinsurance Group of America. In this role, Baker delivered “significant technology change programmes over several years.” Baker brings nearly twenty years of information technology experience to his new role at Hiscox Re & ILS.

Based in London, Baker will become a member of the Hiscox Re & ILS leadership team, reporting to Kathleen Reardon, chief executive of Hiscox Re & ILS. As of the 2nd October 2023, he will be responsible for driving all aspects of the business’ technology strategy.

Commenting on the appointment, Kathleen Reardon, chief executive of Hiscox Re & ILS, has said:
