The Income Protection Task Force (IPTF) has today announced the launch of its value-added services matrix.

The free tool is designed to provide advisers with a quick-view summary of the value-added services, including digital GP access, mental health support, and vocational rehabilitation, offered alongside policies across the protection market, bringing services together in one place across two views.

It will provide a breakdown by IPTF value-added service provider members Krysalis, Legacare, RedArc, Square Health, Teladoc and Working to Wellbeing, as well as an insurer-by-insurer view that notes which insurer provider offers which services. In addition, each provider and insurer name links directly to their website.

The matrix was created at the request of advisers, and follows IPTF content such as real-world case studies of value-added services supporting clients through claims and a written summary of an IPTF industry conversation panel on why these services matter.

"Value-add benefits are an integral part of income protection plans and advisers really need to understand the nuts and bolts of what is available and how they are accessed," Steve Casey, marketing director at Square Health, said. "The IPTF should be applauded in providing guidance to the intricacies of who provides what."

Christine Husbands, commercial consultant at RedArc, added: "I often hear that advisers don’t fully understand the content of value-added services and which insurer offers what. This high-level matrix is an excellent resource to give advisers an overview and enable them to quickly access more detailed information."
