"This partnership allows us to focus on what we do best: Nationwide on the mortgage element and ourselves on the protection conversation. "
- Natalie Hyett, Director of Partnerships at L&G Retail
Legal & General (L&G) has signed a new five-year protection distribution agreement with Nationwide.
As part of the new agreement, L&G has worked collaboratively with Nationwide to develop and implement a new protection referral model for the building society’s mortgage applicants.
L&G has said this approach will “ensure that the business offers seamless protection solutions tailored to the needs of Nationwide’s customers, leveraging the skills of both businesses.”
Extending this partnership means the insurer can continue to offer Nationwide’s customers access to Income Protection (IP), Family & Personal Income Plans, Business Protection, and independent Critical Illness Cover (CIC).
“We’re delighted to continue our partnership with Nationwide for a further five years. We've worked closely to deliver protection solutions that dovetail with the Nationwide mortgage and digital distribution models.
“We’re confident that together we will ensure Nationwide customers can take out protection policies to suit their needs through their channel of choice. The new model allows for closer collaboration to ensure we offer a seamless service,” said Natalie Hyett, Director of Partnerships at L&G Retail.
Darren Black, Head of Protection & Insurances at Nationwide, added: “We’re pleased to be extending our long-standing partnership with L&G […] a trusted partner with huge expertise in the protection market and shared focus on doing the right thing for customers.
“L&G’s products play an important role in helping our customers feel secure and supported. Together, we continue to evolve both our products and how we offer them, so that every customer can find the right protection in a way that works for them.”
