Prior to this promotion, Alan Atkins was appointed as an independent non-executive director of the company’s global expansion division which was launched in the second quarter. This division was created not only to expand MCE’s insurer claims handling model but also its motorcycle sales business.
Atkins will be working closely with Julian Edwards and the executive committee team over the coming months to develop the company’s “strategic opportunities” at pace, claims the new MCE chief executive.
Atkins continued that, having been on the MCE Insurance board since May 2022, he has a “good understanding of where the business has its strengths and what actions [the company] should take across [its] portfolio.”
Commenting on the appointment, Julian Edwards has said:
“On behalf of MCE Insurance, I am delighted to welcome Alan whom I have known personally for 28 years to the senior management team. Alan has an impressive leadership track record and a reputation for innovation and driving growth.
