MetLife UK make key executive team appointments

Today, MetLife UK has announced the appointment of Charlotte O’Brien as Head of Employee Benefits following the promotion of Adrian Matthews to UK Deputy CEO in December 2024.

Prior to this appointment, Charlotte O’Brien served as Head of Portfolio Retention & Growth at MetLife UK following several promotions from Account Manager. In the past, she’s also worked as a Business Development Manager (BDM) at Neilson Financial Services and Sales Adviser at One Answer Insurance.

Charlotte succeeds Adrian Matthews who was recently promoted to UK Deputy CEO – this is a newly created role responsible for distribution, product, and marketing as well as driving MetLife UK’s commercial activities.

This appointment was announced alongside Richard Horner’s promotion from Head of Individual Protection to Head of Transformation & Change which will see him lead the delivery of key strategic programs to enable the provider to achieve its ambitious transformation strategy.

“We’ve set ourselves ambitious growth plans over the next five years, and these key appointments ensure we have the right expertise in the right places. Adrian and Richard have been integral to the evolution of MetLife in the UK as part of the UK Executive Team for many years now, so I’m delighted to continue working with them to drive future growth,” explained Dominic Grinstead, CEO of MetLife UK.
