"More and more people are turning to intermediaries for advice and support when it comes to choosing the right PMI."
The insurance provider has also appointed a BDM to develop the Society’s relationships with advisers and support its involvement in the intermediary market.
Prior to joining the Bristol-based friendly society, Lucy worked as a Broker Development Manager at April UK and spent much of her career working with healthcare providers including SimplyHealth, Vitality and National Friendly itself.
As well as generating new business relationships, Lucy will be contributing to the Society’s strategic and business planning for product development, distribution and marketing.
Lucy Pinson, Business Development Manager at National Friendly, said: “I am very pleased to return to the National Friendly team at a time when this trusted mutual is expanding its proposition to new customers across the country. More and more people are turning to intermediaries for advice and support when it comes to choosing the right PMI. National Friendly recognises that advisers play a valuable role in helping consumers to better understand the complexities of private medical insurance, and I look forward to forging new intermediary networks for the Society to raise more awareness about National Friendly’s innovative PMI solutions.”
Jonathan Long, Chief Executive Officer at National Friendly, added: "We are very pleased to welcome back Lucy to the National Friendly team, which will kick start our plans to grow the Society’s share of business in the PMI market. Lucy’s extensive experience working for a number of providers across the market, including National Friendly, along with her record of building strong, long-lasting networks with intermediaries, will prove instrumental in achieving our goal of helping more people to access quality healthcare across the UK.
“At the same time, we remain wholly committed to the changing welfare needs of our customers, and already have plans in place to roll out innovative new products and services over the next year.”
