Protection Guru appoints Head of Specialist Distribution to support “next offerings in the pipeline”

Protection Guru has today announced the appointment of Steve Davey as Head of Specialist Distribution, to support “next offerings in the pipeline.”

Prior to this appointment, Steve Davey served as Head of Protection & General Insurance (GI) at Vita, following several promotions from Protection Adviser. He’s also worked as an Insurance Sales Manager at We Plan Group, Protection Adviser at Lycia Protect, and Health Care Adviser at ActiveQuote Health Ltd.

In his new role, Steve will focus on delivering Protection Guru’s offering to support advisers in the protection space. He will also help develop its repository of research, learning, and development resources available to participating advisers, as well as dedicated tools specifically designed for advisers providing protection advice at scale.

“In just five years, Protection Guru has had a hugely positive impact on the industry. Having seen the tools and services the Protection Guru team has created, and their next offerings in the pipeline, these would have been a huge benefit to me in previous adviser roles,” he explained.

Steve said: “I’m really excited to be given the challenge of taking these to high-volume protection advisers. Having spent years working with the challenges such firms face, I have first-hand experience.”

Ian McKenna, Founder of Protection Guru, added “Protection Guru was set up to give advisers of all types, the tools and other support they need to give more protection advice, more effectively and to help address the protection gap.
