First reported by Health & Protection, Protection Guru has announced the departure of Steve Davey, Head of Specialist Distribution, and the impending departures of Adam Higgs, Head of Product, and Joanne Legg, Sales & Relationship Manager.
In a statement issued to the media outlet, Ian McKenna, Founder of Protection Guru, thanked Adam for his “outstanding” contribution; “For over twelve years Adam has made an outstanding contribution to our business. He is moving on to an enormous opportunity which he fully deserves, and I’m sure he will be a huge success.” Ian noted that they’ve known about Adam’s departure for many months and a transition plan has been in operation for some time.
Joanne is set to take up an “exciting new role” but will remain with Protection Guru until the end of the year. “Both of them go with my best wishes, indeed I’m looking forward to engaging with them in their new roles. That two of our colleagues are moving on to such important opportunities is a testimony to what a great place Protection Guru is to advance your career,” Ian added.
Although Adam and Joanne had been in ‘front of house’ roles, Ian stressed there are “many more people in the company. We have recently added to the team and will continue to do so.”
Commenting on Steve Davey’s departure, Ian wished him well for the future. Steve was appointed in July 2024 to support “next offerings in the pipeline.” Prior to this appointment, he served as Head of Protection & General Insurance (GI) at Vita, with previous experience at We Plan Group, Lycia Protect, and ActiveQuote Health Ltd.
