Richard Harrison appointed new CEO of Sesame Bankhall Group

Sesame Bankhall Group (SBG) has today announced the appointment of Richard Harrison as its new CEO, subject to regulatory approval.

Prior to this appointment, Richard Harrison served as chief distribution officer at Wesleyan Assurance Society, where he was responsible for financial advice, general insurance (GI), and distribution across its five businesses. He also led the delivery of marketing and digital activity for the Society, focusing on customer-centric business growth.

With over twenty years of financial services leadership experience, Harrison believes he has “learned the value of quality financial advice and the positive impact it can have on people’s lives.” He is excited to lead Sesame Bankhall Group (SBG) which he regards as a “strong business with a fantastic team in place that’s been at the forefront of adviser support for many years.”

“I share their drive and ambition to deliver customer-focused growth for advisers and the business. I am relishing the opportunity to work with the team to help shape and deliver its next phase of development,” he said.

Harrison will take over on the 2nd January 2024, at which point current interim CEO John Cowan will resume his role as chair of the SBG Board.
