Stephane Flaquet replaces Marcotte as Lloyd’s chief operating officer

Today, Lloyd’s has announced the appointment of Stephane Flaquet as chief operating officer (COO), replacing George Marcotte, who has served as interim COO since September 2024.

Prior to this appointment, Stephane Flaquet served as group chief operations and technology officer at Hiscox, where he has worked for over 15 years. In the past, he’s also worked as a regional business solutions manager at AIG, senior director at Capital One Bank (Europe), and structured finance executive at BNP Paribas. 

In his new role, Stephane will lead Lloyd’s operations function to deliver services to the market and corporation. This includes managing the technology, data, and change portfolio. 

He will also lead the corporation’s work on operational resilience within the market infrastructure and Blueprint Two-related activities, as well as join Lloyd’s executive team. 

Stephane replaces George Marcotte, who has served as interim COO since September 2024. This appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
