Iress has announced the return of Stephen Cowdell, who is rejoining the company as senior business development manager after spending three years at 360 Lifecycle. His appointment comes after significant investment by Iress into its mortgage and protection technology, Xplan Mortgage (XPM).

Cowdell previously spent seven years at Iress as a key account manager. In his new role, he will support firms using Iress’ sourcing technology, including The Exchange and Xplan Mortgage, to help them respond to ongoing changes across the advice and mortgage markets.

Iress’ head of business development, Warren O’Connell, said: "I am delighted to welcome Stephen back to Iress. His deep understanding of the market, combined with his experience outside the business, will be a real asset to our clients and to Iress as we continue to evolve our mortgage and protection proposition.

"Stephen has built strong relationships across the industry and will play an important role in supporting both existing clients and the increasing demand for Xplan Mortgage."

Cowdell added: "Iress has always felt like home. My experience at 360 Lifecycle, including extensive exposure across sourcing systems, strengthened my understanding of the mortgage technology market and reinforced what differentiates Iress - its proposition, people and partnership-led approach.

"I'm excited to return at a time of continued investment in mortgage technology and increasing market demand."
