"YoungMinds offers a wealth of information and advice to support parents in the moment, as well as the chance to hear first-hand from other parents or caregivers with lived experience."

Featured within its health & wellbeing app, Help@hand, Unum UK has launched its new Health Network in partnership with YoungMinds. With over 450k registered users, Help@hand makes it easier for people to connect with the support they need to thrive.

YoungMinds provides resources for parents and caregivers who are increasingly experiencing the pressures of the ‘sandwich generation’ - looking after both children and elderly parents.

“Our partnership with YoungMinds, the mental health charity for children and young people, is a powerful step in the continuous evolution of Help@hand – giving users seamless access to its parental support toolkit and helpline,” explained Saumya Barber, head of proposition development at Unum UK.

She said: “The sandwich generation is facing immense pressure and - without adequate support - risk of burnout, which could lead to extended sickness absence or even force some to leave their jobs altogether.”

Michelle Kerrigan, head of philanthropy & partnerships at YoungMinds, added: “We offer a wealth of information and advice to support parents in the moment, as well as the chance to hear first-hand from other parents or caregivers with lived experience.

“Our helpline is there to provide tailored information, advice, and support for those concerned about their child or young person’s mental health. By incorporating a direct route to YoungMind’s resources in the Help@hand app, we hope to reach more families and provide in-the-moment support when they need it most.”
