Zurich UK appoints first-ever chief technology officer

Zurich UK has announced the appointment of Asha Anil Kumar as its first-ever chief technology officer, signalling the insurer’s “commitment to building world-class technology and AI.”

Prior to this appointment, Asha Anil Kumar served as UK chief information officer (CIO) for retail, wealth & private banking at HSBC, where she’s worked for almost nine years. In the past, she’s also worked as a senior principal & management consultant at Infosys Consulting and systems manager at Wipro Technologies.

Asha moves from HSBC to join Zurich UK as its first-ever chief technology officer, subject to regulatory approval. She will also join the UK executive committee in October 2025.
