Prior to this appointment, Phil Jeynes served as Head of Corporate Strategy at Reassured. In the past, he’s also worked as Head of Sales & Marketing at UnderwriteMe, Head of Account Development & Public Relations at Vitality, and Head of New Business at Direct Life & Pensions Services Ltd, amongst others.
In his new role, Phil will lead the distribution strategy whilst aligning the individual protection business across marketing, propositions, and customer service – his primary focus is to set the strategic direction of the individual protection business in the UK.
Phil will join the UK Executive Team and report to Adrian Matthews, UK Deputy CEO at MetLife. “I’m excited to join the business at this pivotal stage, where further growth is at the forefront. MetLife has built an innovative, customer-centric product set, with claims statistics that are the envy of the market,” he said.
In 2024, MetLife UK approved and paid 27,112 claims, averaging 108 accident & health claims per day to its individual protection customers. That equates to over £27mn (£27,058,980.32) in claims over twelve months.
