Renters Insurance flagship Lemonade announces UK launch

Lemonade, the insurance company powered by AI and social impact, has today announced its UK launch following its previous European launches in Germany, France, and the Netherlands.

On the 3rd October, Lemonade announced that residents across the UK can now purchase its contents insurance digitally. Lemonade’s content insurance provides customers with worldwide coverage for individual personal items of up to £2,000 each, total coverage up to £100,000, and a zero cancellation fee guarantee.

Add-on coverage is also available for additional protection against theft and loss-related incidents, accidental damage to mobile devices as well as expert help through legal protection. 

Launching its flagship renters insurance across the United States in 2016, Lemonade is now ranked one of the top renters insurance products in the market.

As a Public Benefit Corporation and Certified B-Corp social impact directly influences Lemonade’s business model, with the company donating leftover premiums to non-profit organizations selected by its customers.

Lemonade is entering the UK market as part of a long-term, strategic partnership with leading UK insurer, Aviva. 

Commenting on the partnership, Adam Winslow, Aviva UK & Ireland general insurance chief executive, has said:

Lemonade Insurance NV is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and subject to limited regulation by the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) in the UK.
