Scottish Widows appoints new protection head of intermediary distribution

Scottish Widows has appointed Catherine Trimble as the new head of intermediary distribution in its protection business.

Catherine has worked in the distribution team since 2021, contributing to growth in market share and delivering on the insurer’s strategy.

In the new role, Catherine will be responsible for key strategic relationships as well as commercial, pricing and reinsurance activity.

Prior to joining Scottish Widows, Trimble has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years in a variety of business management, sales and protection adviser roles.

“Catherine has already played a crucial role in the delivery of the new platform and income protection product", said Rose St Louis, protection director at Scottish Widows. "With her now leading our protection intermediary distribution team, I am confident that we will continue to enhance the experience of advisers working with Scottish Widows, supporting them to meet the needs of their customers while delivering on our ambition to be a top three provider.”
