"If an individual sadly dies, the specialist teams offer guidance and support every step of the way, helping to ease the process and giving loved ones the space to grieve."
- Fran Bruce, Managing Director of Protection at Aviva

Following the successful launch of the proposition to its Group Life customers last year, Aviva has partnered with Red Apple Law to offer Group Income Protection (IP) & Critical Illness (CI) customers legal services.

These free & discounted benefits include an executor toolkit for administering an estate online, step-by-step bereavement & funeral guides, support after the funeral with legal duties, probate etc, online grief counselling, and discounted Will Writing service.

Both insured and uninsured employees who work for organisations with Aviva Group Protection can access these benefits, offering peace of mind that their legal essentials are in order if the worst were to happen. These services are also available to the employee’s spouse or partner.

If an employee or their spouse/partner is diagnosed with a terminal illness, Red Apple Law’s legal services can help the individual review their current estate planning or talk to a professional to put legal documents and practical plans in place.

Customers will also have the opportunity to have unfamiliar terms in their Will explained, receive guidance on whether probate is required, and where appropriate, help sorting relevant affairs while probate is being granted.

Eligible employees and their partner/spouse can also receive a 25% discount on a range of complementary services provided by Red Apple Law.

“We’re delighted to extend Red Apple Law’s extensive life planning, estate management, and bereavement support to our Group IP & CI customers. The specialist support encompasses a will writing and Lasting Power of Attorney Services to help with funeral planning,” explained Fran Bruce, Managing Director of Protection at Aviva.

She said: “If an individual sadly dies, the specialist teams offer guidance and support every step of the way, helping to ease the process and giving loved ones the space to grieve.

“The highly experienced Estate Planning team can work in partnership with the bereavement team and funeral director, taking time to understand the individual’s unique circumstances. They will explain what needs to be done and the services available and offer practical and emotional support for as long as it’s needed,” Fran concluded.
